Our Story
Antony Newton:
I’m from Moselle, in northeastern France, and I’ve always been drawn to wide-open spaces and the freedom they bring. My journey into outdoor sports started when I was about 22 years old, and it completely changed my life. It all began with rock climbing in 2010. Then, in 2012, I discovered slacklining—and I was hooked. Highlining quickly became my obsession. Walking between mountain peaks on a 2.5 cm-wide webbing is an absolutely incredible experience, one that words can’t fully capture.
Over time, I overcame my natural fear of heights and started pushing the limits of highlining with my friends. Together, we broke Guinness World Records and set new highlining milestones, constantly challenging ourselves to go further, higher, and beyond what we thought was possible.
In 2016, I discovered paragliding, which gave me my first taste of flight. That same year, I met the Flying Frenchies, an inspiring group of aerial acrobats who brought BASE jumping into the spotlight. That meeting sparked something in me—and I knew I had to dive into this new world of possibilities.
By 2018, I’d completed my AFF (Accelerated Freefall) course and started skydiving. After about 20 jumps from planes, the Flying Frenchies took me for my first BASE jumps from a paraglider. At the time, my cliff jumps were limited to static lines, but the excitement of what was ahead kept driving me forward.
In 2020, I set up a 1,100-meter slackline at 500 meters high. With only my parachute for safety, I crossed it with confidence, knowing I could let myself fall at any moment. That project was the perfect mix of slacklining and BASE jumping—a dream I’d had from the start.
After that milestone, I shifted my focus to mastering wingsuit flying and tracking. I returned to skydiving, logged hours in the wind tunnel, and kept progressing through countless BASE jumps. It’s through these simple yet consistent efforts that I sharpened my skills and built my confidence.
Today, with over 2,300 jumps to my name, I’ve explored nearly every aspect of BASE jumping. What I love most about the sport is its endless creativity. Lately, my friends and I have been coming up with artistic tricks and ideas that no one has ever tried before. BASE jumping has become my main passion, and I can’t wait to share everything I’ve learned and experienced with others.
After being an Instructor in another school for 2 years I now want to start building my own Base school !
See you soon!
